Current news from Hagley WI
What would we do without modern technology? As I write this we are still in lockdown – perhaps it will be eased by May? - and like other organisations, we won’t be meeting for the foreseeable future.
Keeping in touch and making sure that everyone is coping are so important - and email is great. But not all our members have email so we’re phoning – and definitely keeping the phone companies in business. We’ve also had, via the internet or by post, newsletters from the county and our own WI with news, advice, suggestions.
Our last meeting seems like another world – Catherine Clark telling us about her Life in Hats. She brought and modelled so many beautiful and colourful hats. It was such a lively, enjoyable afternoon which got us thinking about forthcoming occasions where we could wear one – but not for the moment.
Now is a time for remembering and reflection, for gardening if we are fortunate enough to have one, for reading, exercising, crafting, sorting out that cupboard that we can’t put off any longer…!
We are all missing our warm social contact and it will be such a celebration when we can meet again face to face. We are really looking forward to that day and making it something very special. Meanwhile, we hope everyone is keeping well and safe.
