Current news from Hagley Rotary Club
Our Monday Evening meetings were suspended In April, however Rotarians of Hagley continued to find opportunities for social contact, though be it through computers, handsets, and the occasional phone call.
Suddenly “Zoom” no longer was a noise to be made when simulating flights to our favorite holiday destinations, instead it has become the rallying call for a Monday night of Rotarian Banter and catch up.
Sheds, studies and garden backdrops were all used to enrich the pleasure of our good company and worthy discussion fulfilled by the good offices of Past President Julie Banks who continued to set up a virtual reality Rotary Meetings for the Hagley Rotarians and Re-Zoom (Forgive the pun) our bi-weekly meetings.
Now conversant with the technology and the discipline of only one speaker at a time, Rotarians have continued to serve as best we can, the interests of Hagley and surrounding areas.
Funds remain fruitful and Rotarian Janett’s endeavors to sew scrubs and PPE all make us aware we are not alone and there is always a good cause or need to be found if you have the interest to look for it.
Sufficient to say a good time continues to be had by all and the meetings in June held on the 8th and 22nd were enriched with our customary good humor and Rotary camaraderie.
We look forward to Zooming the Airways in August on the 3rd and 17th and hopefully it won’t be long before we’ll meet again in person.
So if readers would like to have fun with a purpose, consider joining our club who will be meeting at 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm on Monday evenings by visiting our website at https://hagleyrotary.wixsite.com/website.
