Current news from Walton District Guides and Brownies

The past few months have been extraordinary for all and for those of us involved in Guiding we have been presented with new challenges as to how to continue Guiding in a safe way. We have been on a steep learning curve as leaders learning to deliver meetings in a virtual way using Zoom as our main platform. Girls in many units have embraced the Home Sweet Home and Coronavirus Challenge Badges enjoying completing the many varied activities at home. The regular contact via Zoom has been really appreciated by both the girls and the leaders.
Brownie and Rainbow leaders have often been spotted walking around the village delivering badges and craft resources. Brownies took part in virtual camps building and sleeping in dens in their homes, Guides attempted world records and baked via zoom. Rangers became very good a quizzes and tried to learn some origami. As I write we are just beginning to meet as small groups outside with appropriate safety measures. We await further guidance as to when we can resume face to face meetings inside but mean while we will keep on Guiding however we can.
