Parish Council Opening Hours Monday to Thursday 9.00a.m. - 2.00 p.m.

This month’s update is the strangest, most difficult update I think I’ve ever had to or will ever have to write again.  Please remember that I’m writing this at the end of April and so most won’t be reading this immediately depending on government guidance about self-isolation and time spent outdoors.

True to form Hagley is doing a great job in looking after its own with reports of fantastic support of friends, family and neighbours; many businesses have changed how they operate to try and continue to support the elderly and most vulnerable groups; churches and charities have mobilised support and volunteer groups; welfare support has been prominent and Hagley Parish Council has set itself up as a community liaison point.

All HPC meetings have been cancelled for the foreseeable future and will be reassessed for May in due course.  Whilst the office is closed the Clerks can be contacted by calling 01562 886239 or emailing clerk@hagleyparishcouncil.gov.uk

The planned VE Day 75 celebration Hagley Garden Party has been cancelled as has every public gathering.  Poignant, given that this was to celebrate a milestone of the end of World War 2 and the last time the nation had to come together stand up against a foe.

The Dial-A-Ride community bus has been suspended. Since its takeover by National Express the operator has had to cease its service.  However there are discussions currently on-going with a new operator and we aim to have the new operator in place soon.

Severn Trent works on the playing fields remediation has been suspended, a decision by the Football Foundation is expected and the Annual Parish meeting has been postponed.  Bromsgrove District Council has maintained essential household waste collections however, garden waste has been suspended; please do not light garden bonfires or dump garden cuttings in hedgerows or fields.

On behalf of all at HPC I sincerely hope that you are keeping as well, continuing to follow government guidance, staying well and keeping up your spirits and moral.  We all look forward to the day when we can de-isolate and return to more ‘normal’ times.

Councillor Steve Colella Chairman Hagley Parish Council
